A Word from the Artist
Slopes of Lion’s Head is inspired by my deep admiration for South Africa, a country I fell in love with during a few training camp trips in my youth. Although I haven’t visited Lion’s Head yet, the mountain’s majestic beauty and the breathtaking surroundings captured my heart through architecture videos and imagery of the area.
This piece features a striking woman adorned with golden jewelry, colorful and luxury clothing and shimmering makeup, symbolizing strength and grace. Lion’s Head serves as a backdrop, blending the power of nature with the beauty of human expression. I dream of visiting this location one day to immerse myself in the people and in the African art and craftsmanship, especially their incredible woodwork and tribal masks, which deeply inspire me.
